Feedback Opportunity: Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) Education Curriculum Policy

The Government recently reviewed the approach schools must take to PSHE curriculum content with the inclusion of Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), and Health Education into the curriculum. The teaching of these subjects has been made compulsory for all secondary schools.

These subjects are covered in our PSHE curriculum which is taught in fortnightly lessons for all year groups in school. Our strong curriculum already covers much of the new framework and Miss Bartlett, Head of PSHE, has ensured the curriculum content is balanced for pupil need and statutory requirements.

We have now updated our RSE policy in line with the new legislation and are now opening our policy for feedback from parents.

A draft policy document has been uploaded to the School’s website within the Policy section and is available for viewing HERE. A survey has also been created to enable you to make comments on the policy if you wish. The link to the survey is HERE.

The deadline for your feedback is Friday 7th May. Your comments will be reviewed by Miss Bartlett, the Senior Leadership Team and our PSHE link Governor. A final policy will be available on the school website following your feedback and our review window.

We appreciate any feedback that you wish to contribute.
