We have been working with a multi-agency partnership comprising of representatives from the Police Community Support Officers, Young Addaction and Strawberry Fields.  We have been focusing on some of the social challenges faced by some young people in the community, in particular substance misuse, healthy relationships and online safety. Our multi-agency partnership has devised approaches to address these areas by offering accessible information and advice to young people via Social Development lessons, assemblies and drop-ins.

As part of our annual Health and Sports Week we are extending our approach to support parents and carers by offering opportunities to attend a series of 3 talks to give practical guidance about the various issues young people face today. Our aim is to provide parents and carers with current, relatable and useful information that will help them to ensure their child is living a healthy and safe lifestyle outside of school.

Each talk will be led by a professional and will be followed by an opportunity for parents and carers to ask questions or gain further personalised advice. The talks will take place in the comfort of the Gregson Community and Arts Centre, 33-35 Moor Gate, Lancaster, LA1 3PY. There is no charge for participation in these talks and you can book a place for each session on Eventbrite by following the relevant link for each talk.
